Start the morning with Stump Removal!

First stump out, then on to the double

With the stumps out of the way, the excavation can start

View from the table on the existing deck on day two
Picture
The existing deck from which I am taking pictures. two BIG trees were removed from in front of it, as we were just too afraid of them coming down. This view is looking toward the NE, and our storms come from the SW, so these trees would have most likely fallen right onto the deck and the new addition if they were to come down in a storm. We're more comfortable in the hot tub now, too!
Picture
That big stand just behind the wellhouse has got to go. It has been dropping small-tree-sized limbs and damaging the roof for all the years we've lived here, and we can't get a 40 foot vehicle back to the barn because they make the turn so narrow
Picture
The first three have been cut. See those three in the middle left that look like they share one stump?
Picture
Well, they DID share one stump, and had to be felled as one. Pat had to chain them together, to make sure they acted as one.
Picture
Have to fill in those big stump holes from day one with rock, so our house doesn't sink later

Checking the existing foundation
Picture
Removed Stumps. They're BIG! Now we have to find someone to take them; they're too big to burn in one season

Root Systems are works of art
